Q&A session with: Carlton M. White

WHAT INSPIRES YOU?

My family, projects where I am learning new things or implementing new concepts, conceptualizing, and implementing out of the box solutions, and making a difference in a positive and meaningful way in the lives of others.

WHAT PROBLEMS DO YOU ENJOY SOLVING?

I enjoy solving problems where others have tried and have given up on finding a solution. I love the idea as it challenges the team to dive deep, utilizing a combination of knowledge, research, and diverse experiences to obtain suitable solutions. It provides me with a sense of accomplishment knowing our efforts made a positive and noteworthy difference.

What is your fondest industry memory?

During my time as a Manager, I led a team charged with delivering 125-megawatt permanent demand reduction in NYC within a 2-year period. The initiative encountered several challenges that required strategic “out of the box” thinking. Against the odds, the team was able to discover opportunities through synergies that permitted the leveraging of resources that resulted in success!
