Redefining the Modern Corporate Office
In the 1990s, BFGoodrich was redefining their business, moving from rubber manufacturing and tire production to chemical engineering and aerospace technology – and their corporate headquarters needed to facilitate this transition. Under Welty’s guidance, the company constructed a new L-shaped building, with glass, aluminum and sandstone as primary architectural features, on a five-acre site overlooking a private one-acre lake. The project won several awards for its fresh approach to the modern office.
