Year of CompletionBack to ProjectsWelty stepped in during a time of uncertainty, partnering with the client to implement an emergency restoration of production at its facility. The facility houses several large-scale polymer reactors and produces complex polymers for the packaging coatings industry. Welty and the project team were engaged following an ignition incident at one of the process facilities that caused significant damage across the campus and halted production.
The team engineered and constructed a restoration solution that included new process piping routes from raw material storage tanks and monomer bunkers, the restoration of power and process controls to the reactor facility, and the reconstruction of the thermal oxidizer and scrubber systems. Ultimately, 21 separate process pipelines, along with various electrical systems, required reconnection.
Welty’s team, alongside the client and trade partners, maintained open communication and strong collaboration from the initial discussions through project completion. United by a shared commitment to success, the entire team worked around the clock to overcome challenges and meet an aggressive, self-imposed schedule, regardless of weather conditions, material availability, or unforeseen obstacles. What was originally anticipated to be a 12-month project was successfully completed in fewer than 60 days, allowing the client to quickly resume production of an essential product for its customers.
