Keeping the original 1800’s “Brick Row” on the New Library

Welty constructed the 22,000 SF John D. Ong Library that resides on the Western Reserve Academy campus. Adding the original 1800’s “Brick Row”, the library incorporates study research and teaching areas in addition to a computer laboratory, a bibliographic instruction room, reading areas and the Western Reserve Academy archives. Building details include a clay tile roof, a fireplace, oak and slate floors, plaster vaulted ceilings and custom interior and exterior wood trim installed by Welty carpenters.
