Stark County Jail

The Stark County Jail renovation and expansion project, which began in August of 2025, aims to modernize the facility by replacing outdated 60-year-old cellblocks with a new pod-style housing unit. The project will significantly increase capacity and improve mental health services, including 24 beds for acute needs and 144 for regular mental health care. It also features a renovated clinic, expanded kitchen facilities, and additional medium and maximum security beds.
