    Welty completed this 230,000-square-foot addition for Akron Children’s Hospital in 2018 to house ambulatory and subspecialty practices so children and families can receive comprehensive care under one roof. This project was completed using Integrated Lean Project Delivery (ILPD), a system focused on collaboration and waste reduction.

    This innovative 65,000-square-foot medically-based fitness facility redefined adult fitness with advanced exercise equipment, medical technology and restorative spaces. The project featured a 25-meter lap pool, grotto whirlpool, full-service medi-spa and more.

    Lutheran Hospital

    Welty completed upgrades to operating rooms at this Cleveland Clinic Hospital, bringing them up to date with previously renovated ORs. We also upgraded connecting corridors and sub-sterile rooms to give the whole area a fresh, cohesive look. Completed in five sub-phases, the 2,800-square-foot space was finished in 2020.

    Ohio Canal Interceptor Tunnel

    Welty oversaw Akron’s largest municipal construction project ever, partnering with Parsons and Thomarios to provide Construction Management services on the Ohio Canal Interceptor Tunnel (OCIT). The 6,240-foot tunnel, completed in 2020, was dug by a 325-foot tunnel boring machine nicknamed Rosie.

    Ohio Seventh District Court of Appeals

    The Ohio Seventh District Court of Appeals showcases Welty’s ability to apply classic style to modern construction. The new 21,000-square-foot courthouse in Youngstown, OH, is spread over three levels. The appellate court serves Belmont, Carroll, Columbiana, Harrison, Jefferson, Mahoning, Monroe and Noble counties.

    Old Akron Post Office

    Welty provided program management and construction management systems to transform one of Akron’s most historic buildings. Working with Akron Legacy Real Estate Development, Welty helped turn the 1929 building into offices for Summa Health System. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
