Summit County Jail

Welty Construction is leading the construction of the expansion and modernization of the Summit County Jail’s Intake, Booking, and Pre Booking areas, delivering a highly specialized environment that supports medical, mental health, and substance use disorder care. This project includes 4,800 SF of new construction and 6,200 SF of interior renovation, all designed to improve safety, clinical workflows, and compliance with Ohio Jail Standards.

Welty is also responsible for constructing upgraded spaces that directly support healthcare and behavioral health needs, including medical interview rooms, mental health and safe cells, recovery services areas, and improved triage and assessment spaces. The work will enhance operational efficiency while creating safer, clinically appropriate environments for individuals in crisis.
