Welty utilized Lean techniques to complete the interior buildout of 16,700 square feet of inpatient care rooms that primarily serve as overflow for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, but can also serve other hospital overflow needs. The project was completed below and next to an operating NICU. The construction team was able to complete the project under budget and two months ahead of the original six month schedule through the utilization of Lean Construction techniques and coordination with the existing NICU staff.
