Testa Builders and Welty Building Company Announce Strategic Partnership

Testa Builders and Welty Building Company Form New Company, Welty-Testa Builders, LLC

February 1, 2016 Akron, OHTesta Builders, the commercial and residential construction division of Testa Companies, and Welty Building Company, proven partners in comprehensive building services and construction management, today announced the formation of Welty-Testa Builders, LLC to join forces and enhance their respective market position and growth prospects.  As part of this transaction, Welty Building Company will strengthen Testa’s existing construction infrastructure to allow for the increased growth of Testa developed properties.

Don Taylor, President and CEO of Welty Building Company, will act as managing member of the new company.  Welty-Testa Builders, LLC will operate out of the Welty Building Company headquarters in Akron, OH, and all construction-based employees of Testa Builders will transfer to this location. Testa Companies Founder and CEO, Paul Testa, and President, Joel Testa, will continue to lead the business development efforts for the new Welty-Testa organization.

Both Testa Companies and Welty Building Company will maintain their respective brands and management structure and will independently operate their businesses.  The alliance is expected to enable both companies to complement each other in their competitive strengths and to extend its reach into other regions.

Testa and Welty have already worked together on a few high profile projects. “I am thrilled to enter into this partnership with Welty Building Company,” said Paul Testa, Founder and CEO of Testa Companies. “This new venture allows us to focus on our core competencies in development, real estate, and architecture, both in and outside of Ohio. Welty will focus on construction management, allowing us to augment our offerings with Welty’s construction resources in order to facilitate expansion outside of Ohio and accelerate growth without the traditional growing pains.  This strategic alliance is a match made in heaven.”

“Welty already has established offices where Testa planned to expand, and forming a new alliance was a natural outgrowth for both companies,” said Don Taylor, President and CEO of Welty Building Company. “The combination of Welty’s expertise in construction management and Testa’s fantastic reputation and well-recognized brand make for an optimal, synergistic relationship.”

“The ability for both companies to compete in new areas and at a whole new level is exciting,” said Joel Testa, President of Testa Builders. “This new partnership will allow us to better serve our clients and will provide growth opportunities for our employees.”
