Welty Energy’s scoping and estimating team provides accurate, detailed scopes and cost estimates. We perform precise estimates on tight deadlines on a regular basis that include material cost, labor cost, scope, schedule and supporting documents. We drive accountability on our estimates by cross-training our team on substation and line (transmission and distribution) to ensure seamless project cost ownership. Every estimate we do receives a three quality control checks using our QAQC process.
Scoping and Estimation
We will work with your stakeholders to develop in-scope concepts, transforming napkin sketch ideas into constructible projects. We will provide a detailed scope of work, clearly documenting all assumptions and risks. Our team will perform a precise, high-quality takeoff that aligns with the defined scope. We will support our estimate with all relevant documents, emails, and reference materials used during its creation.

COST DATA ANALYSIS
CREWS, DURATIONS, MATERIAL
We review or assist in creating variable crews for various project types and/or equipment installations. With our construction background and knowledge of execution practices, we can take a list of disciplines and rates to create crew configurations that closely resemble real-life scenarios. Additionally, we have analysts and estimators who can aid in sorting through purchase order information and agreements to assemble material costing units.
Constructability Review
Our team can review conceptual or execution projects for constructibility and assist in finding solutions for complex builds with multiple constraints.
QAQC for Conceptual or Detailed Estimates
We can review your estimator’s cost, schedule, and scope and compare them to actuals and industry standards for accuracy. We utilize our quality checklist process, along with our team’s industry background.
Project Lifecycle Management
We can track estimates throughout the project lifecycle, from conceptualization to closeout (actuals). We have built Power BI reports for customers to ensure no estimates get lost in the shuttle.
Process Improvement
Efficiency begins with the process, and Welty Energy can assist in reviewing current processes and identifying ways to reduce time without compromising quality.
Estimating Tool/Software Development
Our estimators an analysts can assist in the creation or updating of new estimating software or tools. We have been a part of a large-scale utility customer estimating software roll-out and assisted in the logic, workflows, and data integrity of the system.
Risk and Contingency Assessment
We take every project seriously an analyze its unique constraints and potential hazards. We detail risks and document potential issues for the execution teams so they can start the project with as much information as possible. We will provide possible deductions if the risks do not materialize and explain potential mitigation options.
Conceptual and Detailed Schedules
We can make duration-based or date-specific schedules. Every schedule we create will include the current lead times of the long lead materials in the assumptions. It will consist of a schedule that makes sense per the crew(s) and hours needed, along with outage timing considerations. We consider all aspects when reviewing a schedule and ensure it is as accurate as possible in terms of execution practices. We achieve this by maintaining constant contact with our execution teams in the industry.
