Energy Efficiency and Innovative Design Helped this Corporate Headquarters Earn Gold Level LEED Certification

Offering enhanced technology, energy efficiency and innovative design, FirstEnergy Corp’s West Akron Campus is a pioneer space in terms of environmentally friendly design. At the time of its construction, it was the largest office building in northeast Ohio to be awarded Gold Level Certification by the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program. Welty ensured that the building made good use of recycled building materials, and was built with water and energy-saving systems as well as refrigeration technology to minimize ozone effects.

In any project there are challenges that arise. What Welty’s process does is plan for those things in advance and their approach to how they manage projects, I think, works well to overcome any obstacles and challenges that occur.
