Akron Area YMCA

From renovating an historic 1920 art deco building into a multi-use facility, to building several new 50,000-square foot plus facilities from the ground up, Welty has helped the Akron YMCA bring health and recreation into the future. Since 1984, Welty has managed the renovations/construction of the following facilities: Canal Square, Cuyahoga Falls, Green, Lake Anna, University Park (LEED Certified), Wadsworth Outdoor Pool, and the Akron Area YMCA Corporate Offices. Working with local communities, Welty helped maximize these spaces to provide a variety of recreation and rehabilitation services, including lap pool, zero-depth recreation pool, gym, racquetball courts, fitness centers, physical therapy and sports medicine rooms. The University Park facility was the sixth LEED accredited YMCA facility across the United States.
