OUR HISTORY
Welty has been serving the needs of clients throughout Ohio and beyond since 1945.
The Welty Timeline1945
Henry Welty establishes the Henry D. Welty Co. to design and build fine homes. He was a former industrial arts teacher at Central High School and a longtime resident of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.1945
1969
Henry D. Welty Co. is renamed to D. Welty & Son after Welty’s middle child, Jerry, joined the business. After several decades, Henry retired and turned the company over to his son. As a result of Jerry Welty’s focus on commercial credentials that resulted in larger, higher-profile projects, the company became known as Welty Building Corporation.1969
1996
Jerry Welty finds a business partner in Donzell S. Taylor. Together, they continue expanding their company’s business and list of clients.1996
1999
The company restructures with the promotion of Don Taylor to President and Welty as Chairman of the Board.1999
2004
Welty Building Company expands with Welty Facility Services Group.2004
2008
environments 4 business, LLC. is opened. e4b is a full-service office furnishings dealer and wholly owned subsidiary of Welty Building Company Ltd.2008
2011
With the company’s focus expanding into different areas in Ohio, Welty opens the Cleveland office.2011
2013
A new office is established in Columbus, Ohio.2013
2014
inSITE Advisory Group, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Welty Building Company Ltd., is formed.2014
2016
Welty Energy & Infrastructure is opened as a construction management and EPC expert in the electrical renewable tunnel and wastewater industries.2016
2018
Welty Think Tank is developed as a high-energy, streamlined, proprietary rapid planning and evaluation program designed to accelerate the development of conceptual plans to address facility growth challenges.2018
2020
Welty Development is a full-service developer focused on multi-family, corporate and healthcare opportunities. Welty Development harnesses and leverages resources across the Welty family of companies to grow its real estate portfolio and enhance the horizontal integration strategy.2020
2025
Welty Enterprises becomes the umbrella over the Welty family of brands, encompassing Welty Construction, Welty Development, Welty Energy, inSITE Advisory Group and environments 4 business.2025

Safety is a core value and a critical part of the Welty culture. At Welty Enterprises, we are committed to the highest standards of safety performance possible. Providing a safe work environment is every employee’s responsibility, every trade partner’s responsibility and Welty’s first priority.
Our Commitment to Safety
We develop an organized and effective safety program for every phase of the projects across our family of brands.
For building and energy projects especially, our comprehensive safety program starts well before a project begins and includes three primary activities:
- Establish a custom safety plan with a timeline for implementation
- Brief staff and stakeholders on the safety plan and train and retrain on best practices
- Utilize an independent third party to report on plan compliance
Doing the Right Thing, Even When it’s Hard
We don’t accept shortcuts, and that goes double for safety. Our commitment to safe work environments means we develop and enforce safety rules and require that all employees cooperate with these rules as a condition of employment. We conduct regular and routine safety inspections to discover and correct unsafe working conditions or practices.
We also investigate every accident promptly to discover its cause, correct the problem and prevent reoccurrences. From personal protective equipment to physical and mechanical fail-safes, thinking Welty means thinking safety first.

The Welty Engagement Committee’s mission is to empower our employees to enable engagement within our communities while creating opportunities for personal and professional growth, collaboration, and meaningful contributions to the greater good. With a focus on advocacy, volunteerism/team building, and career growth, we are working to foster positive growth for our community and employees.
