WIC Week 2026 – Empowering Women in Construction

Women in Construction Week is a time to celebrate, empower, and elevate the women who are shaping the construction industry. It’s an opportunity to raise awareness about the vital role women play on jobsites, in offices, and in leadership positions across the field.

March also marks Women’s History Month, a time to honor the powerful women who have paved the way, broken barriers, and created space for future generations to thrive. Together, these observances remind us of the importance of representation, inclusion, and the continued advancement of women in every corner of the workforce.

Why Women Matter in Construction

A career in construction offers endless opportunities—problem‑solving, creativity, leadership, innovation, and the chance to build the world around us. Having women in these roles is not only important; it’s essential.

While women make up only about 11–15% of the construction workforce, they now hold roughly 13% of executive positions, demonstrating a significant, growing, and influential presence. As more women enter and lead within the industry, they continue to challenge outdated norms and strengthen what construction can achieve.

The construction industry continues to evolve, and with it comes the responsibility to keep pushing the stereotype of what a construction professional “looks like.”
