Moving Structures. Making History.
On June 30, 2008, Welty made history by moving the iconic Richard Howe House, built in 1836, two blocks west to its new home along the Ohio & Erie Canal. Welty also managed the $2.2 million restoration and renovation of the building, which now serves as a visitor information center for the Ohio & Erie National Heritage Canalway, a meeting center, as well as offices for the Ohio & Erie Canalway Coalition.
