Bringing Advanced Medical Care to New Places

Summa Health System and 65 Medina area physicians partnered in order to build a comprehensive outpatient medical complex in Medina. As the construction manager, Welty helped Summa launch its first satellite ER, an 88,000 SF medical office building and a new, free-standing emergency department.

Immediately after opening, Summa began plans for the expansion of the Emergency Department. The project features private rooms, easy access to adjacent radiology and laboratory services, and interior waiting rooms for families and patients, and various offices and work areas. The 12-bed emergency department has increased in patient volume and the addition is expected to accommodate between 10,000 and 12,000 patients a year.

It has a patient drop-off entrance in the front of the building and an ambulance drop-off in the back. Site work will consist of additional parking, an enlarged retention basin and a new helipad.
