As Construction Manager, Welty helped Akron General create a Health and Wellness Center that’s become nationally recognized for its unique delivery of preventative, early detection and treatment services in one location. The state-of-the-art building includes a full-service fitness center, pool, 24-hour Emergency Department, Akron Children’s Hospital Urgent Care Facility, medical library, outpatient surgery, physical therapy, women’s programs, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, physicians’ offices and conference rooms. The facility has won 22 national awards for its groundbreaking multifunctional design and for the supporting construction that brought it to life.
