December 8, 2015 – Akron, OH – Welty Building Company, proven partners in comprehensive building services and construction management, and Millcraft Investments, a leading real estate and development company in Western Pennsylvania, today announced the formation of Millcraft-Welty Construction. The company was created to present a singular face and create synergies between the construction management and development strengths of Millcraft Investments and Welty Building Company. The company will maintain facilities in both downtown Pittsburgh and Washington, PA.
“Millcraft’s stellar reputation as a real estate developer in the western PA market coupled with values similar to Welty’s made the creation of this venture a natural fit,” said Donzell Taylor, President and CEO of Welty Building Company. “The creation of Millcraft-Welty Construction allows us to expand into Western PA and enhance our capabilities through the addition of Millcraft’s expertise as a real estate developer.”
Jack B. Piatt, Founder and Chairman of Millcraft Investments said, “Millcraft is excited about our newest venture. Adding Millcraft-Welty Construction to our portfolio of real estate services will allow us the opportunity to expand and provide another service in partnership with a reputable, experienced industry leader.”
Said Lucas B. Piatt, President and COO of Millcraft Investments, “This partnership will allow us to better serve our customers, control project costs, speed up project delivery and allow us to better compete in this increasingly competitive real estate development marketplace.”
The new company is planning to hire 20-25 employees by the end of 2016 and leverage the talent pool of both Millcraft Investments and Welty Building Company. Don Taylor is President and CEO of Millcraft-Welty and will oversee the day-to-day operations. The company is currently hiring a president.
