Akron Children's Hospital's Beeghly Campus Offers More to Families in the Boardman Area

After nearly 50 years of caring for children in the Mahoning Valley area, Akron Children's Hospital selected Welty Building Company to build the area's only free-standing children's hospital in Boardman, Ohio. The Beeghly Campus of Akron Children's Hospital offers child- and family-centered care with special features to keep families close to patients with in-room accommodations and the McFamily Respite Center. The 32-bed pediatric inpatient hospital was constructed in record time by Welty, in just five months, and opened in December 2008. The hospital unveiled the respite center in early April 2009. The facility's pediatric offerings include general medical care, a 24-hour emergency department, outpatient oncology services, radiology and lab services, various rehabilitation, and electroencephalography.
